Woodland Walk

Circular Walk, steep in places: Total Ascent 650 feet

2 ¼ miles / 1 hour 30 minutes

From the car park in the centre of the village, cross the main road in front of the Woollen Mill and turn right. At the end of the row of shops, opposite the Fairy Falls Hotel, turn left and walk up the hill. Continue up a steep section of road for some 300 yards then following the waymarks, fork right up the road that eventually leads to Llyn Cowlyd. After 100 yards, turn right into the forest.

Once in the forest, there are a number of spectacular viewpoints giving views over the Conwy Valley and at the highest point of the walk, at the 'Sun Seat', you can see the 3,000 foot peak of Moel Siabod.

Trail 6 leads gently through woods back to the village.

(Trail 7 branches off Trail 6 at the top of the woods and descends down into the Crafnant Valley. Turning right at the top of the woods up the single track road, takes you up a very steep climb over into the valley of Llyn Cowlyd. From Cowlyd, there are routes over to Llyn Eigiau, Cwm Eigiau and onto the 3,000 foot peaks of the Carneddau).
